Wellness Retreat “Harmony in the Forest” in Israel’s Negev

    Published on

    What it is about:

An upcoming wellness event entitled “Harmony in the Forest” will take place in the serene surroundings of Lahav Forest in the Negev, organized by Bney Shimon Tourism. The event is designed to offer various rejuvenating workshops such as acro-yoga, Pilates, shiatsu, intuitive painting, and more.

    Why it matters:

Held at Rimon Farm on Thursday, September 19, the event targets individuals aged 30 and above, and aims to provide a healing respite from war. By blending physical and emotional well-being activities, “Harmony in the Forest” seeks to strengthen body and soul while fostering a deeper connection with nature. The venue has a history of serving as a sanctuary for evacuees, war victims, soldiers, and reservists during times of conflict, highlighting Israel’s commitment to creating spaces for healing and renewal.

    What they’re saying:

Post-workshop sessions will include a lecture by Yehudit Katz, an esteemed author and podcast host specializing in positive psychology. Katz emphasizes the importance of finding happiness through small daily actions and nurturing moments of peace, rather than constantly seeking unhappiness.

“There’s no point in chasing happiness; there isn’t. You need to nurture it in small actions, small habits. Teach the brain to enjoy what’s there, not just complain about what’s not,” Katz advises.

    Supporting local businesses:

The event is priced at 200 NIS for individuals and 350 NIS for couples, with food purchased separately. Visitors will also have the opportunity to support local artisans and businesses at various stalls offering handmade jams, chocolate packages, natural pharmacy products, jewelry, and clothing, thereby strengthening Israel’s local economy.

    What leaders are saying:

Nir Zamir, head of the Bney Shimon Council, underscores the proactive role the council has taken since the events of October 7. Their efforts extend to serving as an absorption center for evacuated communities.

“As a leading council in the Negev, we understand that we have a significant part in the national mission of rehabilitating the Negev in particular and the State of Israel in general. The Bney Shimon Regional Council area serves as a healing space for communities that need it and for Israeli citizens overall,” Zamir commented.
