    What it is about

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF), in coordination with the Border Police and Shin Bet, conducted a successful counter-terrorism operation in Tulkarm, located in the West Bank. Over a 14-hour operation, the IDF successfully arrested 40 wanted individuals and dismantled explosive laboratories.

    Why it matters

This comprehensive operation is a significant step in maintaining national security and neutralizing potential threats. By destroying laboratories used for creating explosives and arresting known terrorists, the IDF has effectively reduced the immediate risks to civilian lives and contributed to the broader goal of regional stability.

    Details of the Operation

During the 14-hour operation, IDF units supported by airstrikes from the Israel Air Force (IAF) eliminated three armed terrorists. Soldiers from the Kfir Brigade, guided by intelligence from the Shin Bet, dismantled two laboratories used for producing explosives. Concurrently, the Duvdevan unit destroyed an apartment belonging to a wanted individual and detained another suspect.

    Additional Accomplishments

Furthering the operation’s success, IDF personnel destroyed road-side bombs, confiscated approximately 15 weapons, and seized NIS 60,000 believed to be intended for terrorist activities. Since the onset of the Israel-Hamas conflict, more than 4,850 individuals associated with terrorist organizations have been arrested, 1,960 of whom were linked to Hamas.

    The Bigger Picture

The operation’s achievements underscore the effectiveness of Israel’s security apparatus in countering terrorism. By relentlessly targeting terrorist infrastructure and operatives, Israel reinforces its commitment to safeguarding its citizens and preserving peace in the region.
