What It’s About
The IDF, in collaboration with the Israeli Security Agency (Shin Bet), successfully conducted airstrikes eliminating nine terrorists in Tulkarm, including those responsible for the tragic murder of Amnon Mokhtar.
Why It Matters
This operation marks a significant step towards justice and serves as a powerful deterrent against acts of terrorism. The families affected by these heinous crimes find some solace in seeing those responsible held accountable.
The Details
Amnon Mokhtar, a beloved fruit and vegetable vendor from Petah Tikva, was killed in June in Kalkilya. The terrorists responsible, Ali Khalil and Jamal Abu Haniyeh, were among those eliminated by precision airstrikes orchestrated by the IDF and Shin Bet.
Mokhtar’s untimely death left a profound impact on his family and community. He was brutally attacked while driving on the main street in Kalkilya, where his vehicle was set on fire after being shot at. Mokhtar was initially assisted by the Red Cross and later transferred to IDF personnel, who unfortunately pronounced him dead at a checkpoint.
The Human Side
Described as a kind and generous man, Mokhtar was a father of five and known for his secret donations and willingness to help those in need. His presence was deeply valued at his market stand and within the community. One relative aptly expressed, “He raised his children splendidly and loved to help and give.”
A Family’s Closure
Mokhtar’s family expressed a sense of closure and justice with the elimination of the terrorists. They conveyed a powerful message: “This is the end of every terrorist. They should know that whoever murders will pay the price of life.”
